I blow stuff up.

I get to do that in my hands-on experiential physics course for non-science majors. It's all about the physics they learned when they were 5, 6 and 7 exploring their brand new universe.

We approach physics from many directions including the humanities.

Students read "Fog" by Sandburg before making their own clouds. They learn how the simple compass affected (negatively, by the way) the economic viability of Afghanistan.

We explore movie special effects and the physics involved, and how Hollywood gets the science right, and wrong.

They learn how puppeteer Shari Lewis' story of Bear Lake connects with premature baby survivability.

And we blow stuff up.
