If you can’t join THATCamp Hybrid Pedagogy in person this weekend, we would love to have you lurking or participating via Twitter, your own blog, Google Docs, and Google Hangout. No need to register if you want to attend virtually. Just come back here and follow @hybridped and #thatcamphp for updates.

THATCamp Hybrid Pedagogy will use three basic social media tools — Twitter, Google Docs, and a Scoop.it curated collection — to organize virtual participation. We’ve set up open Google Docs and linked them to the schedule that we will fill in on Saturday morning. Use these Google Docs to collaborate in, contribute to, and curate sessions.

Tweet using the #thatcamphp hashtag. Use this blog as a place to share impressions, but we encourage participants to use their personal and professional blogs to contribute to the work of THATCamp Hybrid Pedagogy. Post links in the your on the #thatcamphp hashtag and/or to our Scoop.it page so that we can collect it.

Virtual attendees can join us for the entire THATCamp, one or two sessions, and can propose a session of their own. THATCamp’s motto — Less Yack, More Hack — has inspired several scholarly projects that have taken on a life of their own (particularly the ProfHacker blog on The Chronicle of Higher Education and the edited volume Hacking the Academy), and we want to facilitate the collaboration of all possible participants towards publishable work. Hybrid Pedagogy’s community is a diverse group of thinkers, so if your budget or your schedule prevents you from traveling to Portland, we want you to be able to “attend” the conference your own way.
